The Mahamrityunjaya Mantra, also known as the Great Death-Conquering Mantra, Tryambakam Mantra, is a verse of the Rigveda. This Trimbak is addressed to the Trinity, an epithet of Rudra (later associated with Shiva). This verse is also found in Yajurveda. The Gayatri mantra, it is the best-known mantra in contemporary Hinduism. The great mantra dedicated to Shiva as Mrityunjaya is found in Rigveda. It is called Maha Mrityunjaya Mantra, Conqueror of Death.
